Current Update

May 28, 2020

We hope you and your family are staying healthy during the interesting times we find ourselves in.  We thought it was a good time to explain how we are still able to operate during this “shelter in place” order and how some rule changes through the recent CARES Act could affect you.

Due to current recommendations surrounding COVID-19, our office will remain closed to in-person appointments.  However, we are responding to voicemails and processing transactions on a timely basis.  We are also providing phone and virtual appointments to provide the best help possible currently.  Here are a few items that make such meeting works:

  • We have screen sharing capabilities with our financial planning software that allows us to show our simulations via a log-in we will provide to you.
  • Many of the transactions that we initiate can now be done with your permission over the phone or with e-signature authorization that we can send you after we discuss.
  • We now have simple and quick ways to get a bank account on file to draft funds into or out of your investment accounts with your authorization.

The recent CARES Act has provided some relief to current financial strain that some individuals and business are feeling.  There are a number of opportunities and strategies that may apply to your situation.  These changes include but are not limited to:

  • A stimulus check for many Americans.
  • Tax filing and tax payment deadlines have been extended in many cases.
  • Retirement account contribution deadlines have also been extended.
  • There are options to defer student loan payments.
  • There are several small business loans and grants available to help small business owners through this time.

Feel free to contact us directly if you would like to discuss further.

One last thing.  You may begin to see an increase in correspondence from Oak Leaf Financial Group via e-mail and our website.  Sometimes, hard things like the current “stay safe” show us ways of doing things a little better.  Our team has decided that ongoing electronic correspondence (with an unsubscribe button for those who aren’t interested) is a good way to provide timely information that we feel may be helpful or of interest to you.

Thank you for the opportunity to help you navigate the many changes that have recently been presented.  For additional information and updates, as well as access to your, please refer to our website at
